A Little History about Next Generation Realty
In 2005, Ron Price along with daughter, Summer, and son-in-law, Paul Rawlins, founded Sugarmill Realty of Citrus Inc., a small boutique real estate office located inside the main entrance of the Sugarmill Woods community. Next, in May 2007, the company name changed to Coldwell Banker Next Generation Realty. In October 2007, Coldwell Banker Next Generation Realty acquired Sugarmill Woods Sales Inc. Then, in 2008, Coldwell Banker Next Generation Realty acquired Coldwell Banker 1st Choice Realty, another franchise in Crystal River.
In 2010, Ron sold his interest to a long-time acquaintance, Fredrick Snell Jr. Finally, in January 2017, Rick sold his interest to Edward Russell Johnston. One of the original founders of the company in 2005, Paul Rawlins, is still active in the company as Sales Manager. Fredrick Snell Jr., who purchased the company in 2010, is also still active in the company, along with Edward Johnston, the current Broker/Owner.

Edward Johnston is the Broker/Owner of Coldwell Banker Next Generation Realty. Edward joined the local Real Estate Association in 1977 and has been a Real Estate Broker in Citrus County for more than 40 years. Mr. Johnston also has a successful construction business (www.erj.net) and continues to build many fine custom homes and commercial buildings throughout Citrus County.
Edward and his wife, Janet Johnston, have three children. Daughter Anne is currently working at NASA as a Chemical Engineer. Daughter Ellen is a Registered Nurse and currently attending college to advance her nursing degree. And son Aaron, has a Master’s degree in Bio-Medical Engineering and is currently in his last semester of Law School. Aaron has accepted an invitation to join a premier national law firm this summer.
Edward is active in the community and has served as a President of the Citrus County Builders Association, President of the Citrus County Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association, and as a Club President and Governor for Rotary International District 6950.
